Building for the future of the digital world in ’s-Hertogenbosch
What do high-tech servers, Silicon Valley, and a former solar panel warehouse in ’s-Hertogenbosch have in common? Everything — if you ask us.
Bouwbedrijf Peter Peters has recently completed the impressive interior renovation for Super Micro Computer, Inc. Supermicro is one of the world’s largest server manufacturers, with its headquarters in Silicon Valley and a rapidly growing European headquarters at the Sterrenbeeld business park in ’s-Hertogenbosch. To support this growth, they needed a state-of-the-art testing environment to run their servers at full capacity — and together, we made it happen.
Through our partner Kanters e.tech, who engaged us as construction contractor, we took responsibility for the structural coordination and execution. It was a challenging project with a short engineering and construction timeline, where we proudly contributed our expertise as part of the team.
What we built
In a former warehouse previously used for solar panel storage, we have created an entirely new interior world — a valuable addition to their “Campus” at “De Brand”:
• Burn-in room
• Rack testing room
• Proof-of-concept lab
• Assembly area
All within a sleek and functional steel structure, with sandwich panels and a multifunctional beam layer for execution, maintenance, and future use.
High-tech requirements, high-level solutions
Together with Kanters e.tech and DKC Totaaltechniek, we increased the electrical capacity and installed advanced air and water cooling systems. The cooling towers were shipped directly from Taiwan and have been installed fully demountable — allowing the entire system to be removed without leaving a trace. Smart, circular, and future-proof.
Communication on site?
Dutch, of course. But when speaking with the client, we easily switched to English — natural when working with a global player like Supermicro.
This was a challenging project with tight deadlines and high standards, but thanks to the close collaboration with Tom Horstink and Daniël Blankespoor from CONRATO BV (design, project management, and supervision), Supermicro’s project owners Kenny Wo and Lina Yu, and our partners Kanters e.tech and DKC Totaaltechniek, we proudly look back on this unique project.

Bouwen voor de toekomst van de digitale wereld in Den Bosch
Wat hebben hightech servers, Silicon Valley en een voormalig zonnepaneel-warehouse in Den Bosch met elkaar te maken? Nou, alles — als je het aan ons vraagt.
Bouwbedrijf Peter Peters heeft onlangs de indrukwekkende interne verbouwing van Super Micro Computer, Inc. afgerond. Supermicro is een van de grootste serverproducenten ter wereld met headquarters in Silicon Valley en een snelgroeiende Europese hoofdvestiging aan het Sterrenbeeld in Den Bosch. Voor deze groei was een high-end testomgeving nodig om hun servers op volle toeren te laten draaien en die hebben we samen gerealiseerd.
Via onze partner Kanters e.tech, die ons als bouwkundig uitvoerder betrok bij dit project, namen wij de bouwkundige coördinatie en realisatie op ons. Een uitdagende klus in een kort tijdsbestek voor engineering en uitvoering, waarin wij als onderdeel van het team onze expertise hebben ingezet.
Wat hebben we gerealiseerd?
In een voormalig warehouse dat eerder dienstdeed als opslag voor zonnepanelen, hebben we een volledig nieuwe binnenwereld gebouwd. Een waardevolle aanvulling op hun ‘Campus’ op ‘De Brand’:

• Assembly area
Alles in een strak en functioneel ontworpen staalconstructie, met sandwichpanelen en een multifunctionele balklaag voor uitvoering, onderhoud en eindsituatie.
High-tech eisen, high-level oplossingen
Samen met partners Kanters e.tech en DKC Totaaltechniek hebben we de elektrische capaciteit vergroot en geavanceerde lucht- en waterkoeling gerealiseerd. De koeltorens kwamen rechtstreeks uit Taiwan. Alles is zo gebouwd dat het volledig demontabel is. Het hele systeem kan volledig worden verwijderd zonder sporen na te laten. Slim, circulair en toekomstgericht.
Communicatie op de werkvloer?
Gewoon in het Nederlands. Maar richting opdrachtgever schakelden we net zo makkelijk over naar Engels — logisch, bij een wereldspeler als Supermicro.
Het was een uitdagend traject met een scherpe deadline en hoge eisen, maar dankzij de nauwe samenwerking met Tom Horstink en Daniël Blankespoor van CONRATO BV (ontwerp, projectmanagement en directievoering), opdrachtgevers Kenny Wo en Lina Yu van Supermicro en onze partners Kanters e.tech en DKC Totaaltechniek, kijken we met trots terug op dit bijzondere project.
